The John Steele Collection
The images on this site were collected by John Steele from Oakengates Telford Shropshire and I am sharing them in his memory.
When he sadly passed away his son gave me access to Johns extensive collection of newspaper cuttings, leaflets and slides.
The newspaper cuttings are generally from the Shropshire Star and Telford Journal.
The Telford Promotional leaflets were issued by DDC (Dawley Development Corporation) later known as TDC (Telford Development Corporation).
Some material is of unknown source - I would be grateful for information if they need have credits added to them.
John worked and volunteered with the Ironbridge Gorge Trust so a lot of the information is related to the trust activities.
